Michael Ross McNett, 49, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021 at home in Fort Myers, Florida. He was born August 4, 1971, in Angola, Indiana. He was the son of Robert Lee McNett and Janet Sue (McKeever) McNett. His mother, Janet, survives.
Michael was raised in LaGrange and was a gifted athlete, playing multiple sports throughout his school years. Some of his family’s and friend’s fondest memories were watching him hit home runs, make flying catches in center field, kick field goals and sink a jump shot. He loved animals, especially his beloved Corgi, Rommel, and was an incredibly hard worker with a tremendous work ethic - no matter the task at hand. Michael was also a lifelong University of Michigan football fan and loved watching and attending their games.
He had lived in Florida for nearly 20 years and was loved by many, including friends and family. Other survivors include: sister, Shannon (Jim) McNett-Silcox of Syracuse; nephews Maxwell (Nicole) Silcox of Carmel and Harrison (Allie)) Silcox of Greenwood; and many aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert, and his loving grandparents.
A private family service will be held, no funeral services or calling hours will be observed according to Michael’s wishes. Memorial contributions can be made to the Delores McNett & Talmage Family Scholarship at https:/deloresmcnettscholarship.wordpress.com/donate.
