Michael "Mike" Jessup Obituary

Michael "Mike" Jessup, 70, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at his residence.

Born September 12, 1953 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Stewart Jessup and Mary Ruth (Roan) Jessup. He married Sharon (Williams) Jessup on February 17, 1978, and she survives.

Other survivors include 2 sons- Scott Williams Jessup of Shelbyville, Mike Stewart Jessup (wife Chrissy) of Shelbyville; twin brother Mark Jessup (wife Benita) of Shelbyville, sister Carolyn Hurley (husband Ed) of Shelbyville; 4 grandchildren- Alexis, Alyssa, Jalen, Maggie; and 4 great grandchildren- Dylan, Grayson, Jhaydon, and Karissa.  He was preceded in death by his parents ,a brother Gerald Jessup, and a sister Shirley Jones.

Mr. Jessup was a lifelong resident of this area, and graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1974. He retired from Knauf Fiber Glass after 36 years of service, and was an Indiana National Guard veteran. Mike enjoyed fishing and hunting, and spending time with his family.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Dave Douglas officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Legion Post # 70,  in care of the funeral home.
