Myron Duane Lemmons, 88, of Waldron, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020
at Walker House.
Born April 21, 1932 in Noble Township, Shelby County, he was the son of Charles Leroy
Lemmons and Josephine Ruth (Reed) Lemmons. He married Marlyn (Hurst) Lemmons
on October 4, 1952 and she preceded him on April 26, 2011.
Survivors include 3 sons- Gary Lemmons (wife Diana) of Shelbyville, Gregg Lemmons
(wife Melody) of Manilla, Dan Lemmons (wife Pam) of Waldron; 8 grandchildren- Erika
East, Grant Harman, Katie Fix, Lezlie Stocklin, Jason Lemmons, Jeremy Lemmons, Seth
Lemmons, Courtney Harris; and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by
his parents, his spouse, daughter Karen Harman, brother Marvin Lemmons, and a sister
Phyllis Elliott.
Mr. Lemmons had lived in this area his entire lifetime and had been a self employed farmer
since age 17. He also had been a school bus driver for Rush County Schools for 29 years,
retiring in 1992. He graduated from Waldron High School in 1950, was a member of Mt. Pisgah
Baptist Church, and a member of the Coffee & Comfort Fun Bunch group.
Duane loved to travel, (especially out West), farming and combining, and spending time with
his family and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Glenn E. George & Son
Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Dr. Robb Barlow officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah
Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday evening, May 20, 2020 at the funeral home
from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, although not over 25 people will be allowed in the home at one time,
due to Covid-19 mandates.
Memorial contributions can be made to American Macular Degeneration Foundation (AMDF)
in care of the funeral home.
