Nancy L. Smith

Nancy L. (Trout) Smith, 75, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019 at her residence.
Born March 6, 1944 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Arthur Richard Trout and
Helen Gayle (Dillinger) Wainscott.  She married Mike "Frog" Smith on July 28, 1979 and he preceded
her on February 13, 2013.
Survivors include 10 children- Jerry Petty (wife Twyilla) of Shelbyville, Annie Petty Williams (husband Ted)
of Shelby County, Steven Shepard (wife Lisa) of Shelbyville, Teaki Shepard Markley (husband Frank Russell) of
Shelbyville, Stormy Shepard Jimenez (husband Josh) of Lewisville, Texas,  Brian Smith
(wife Monica) of Lafayette, Sandy Smith Posz (husband Mike) of Shelbyville, Wendy Smith Mount (husband
Brook) of Rushville, Michelle Smith Green (husband Jason) of Charlotte, Tennessee, Butch Smith-Waychoff of Florida; 2 brothers- Jim Trout
(wife Linda) of Rush County, Glenn Trout (wife Laura) of Jeannette, Pennsylvania; and many grandchildren,
great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse,
a son Jimmy Shepard, sister Shirley Trout Pope, & 2 brothers- Richard "Dick" Trout and Paul Trout.
Mrs. Smith had lived in this area for 47 years, moving from Rushville, and had attended Rushville High School.
She had been  employed as an LPN at several local nursing facilities for several years, including Especially Kidz 
where she worked for 17 years.
Funeral services will be 5:00 pm, Friday, April 26, 2019 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos
Road, with Pastor Seth Taylor officiating.  Friends may call from 3:00 pm until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions can be made to Nancy L. Smith Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
