Nelson Taylor Obituary


Nelson A. Taylor, 62, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday,
November 18, 2020 at Community Heart & Vascular Hospital.
Born February 24, 1958 in Shelby County, he was the son of L. Albert
Taylor & Mary Ann (Carter) Taylor. He married Leta (Freeman) Taylor
on April 15, 2000 and she survives.
Other survivors include daughter Elaina Taylor of Westport; brother Tony Carter;
Aunt Martha Sanders of Florida; and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his
parents & brother Frank Carter.
Mr. Taylor was a resident of Indianapolis for 22 years, after moving from Shelby County, and graduated from Waldron
High School in 1978. Nelson attended Geist Chapel in Indianapolis and was a member of
National Model Railroad Association & Plastic Modelers Association. He was retired and 
was also in the US Army Reserve. Nelson enjoyed fishing, tinkering, and building HO Model
electric PennCentral trains, and was a handyman that could fix anything that needed repair.
He was an avid motor sports fan.
Funeral services will be, 2:00 pm, Friday, November 20, 2020 at Glenn E. George & Son 
Funeral Home, 437 Amos Rd, with Pastor Luis Llerena  officating. Burial will be in Bennett
Cemetery. Visitation will be observed Friday, from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project in care of the funeral home.
