Obituary

Pansy Stevens, 89, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 at her residence.

Born September 1, 1933 in Franklin, she was the daughter of Everett Vandivier and Mildred (Willey) Vandivier.  She married Robert L. Stevens on February 3, 1959, and he survives.

Other survivors include 4  children- a son Danny Stevens (Ruth Lake) of Shelbyville; 3 daughters- Patricia Stringer (husband Rick) of Plainfield, Carol Thomason (husband Roy) of Hephzibah, Georgia, Linda Stevens of Edinburgh; a step daughter Pamela S. Lamasper of Mobile, Alabama; a sister Dorothy Bolin of Franklin; 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Rickie Stevens, 3 brothers- Harold Vandivier, Earl Vandivier, Larry Vandivier, 3 sisters- Jerry Bundy, Pauline Spaw, Joan Scholl, and a great great granddaughter Serenity Ann Stroud.

Pansy was a lifelong resident of this area, and attended Franklin High School.  She retired from GE/Wellman's Thermal Systems after 27 years of service.  She had previously worked at Arvin's in Columbus for 6 years, and PPG for 5 years.  She was a member of UAW Local #1793, and GE/Wellman Retiree Fund.

Pansy enjoyed bowling, visiting the casino, playing Bingo. She greatly loved her husband and family, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Jeff Scholl officiating. Burial will be in Winchester Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday evening, May 9, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Salvation Army, or Home for Abused Mothers and Children, in care of the funeral home.
