Randal D. “Randie” McDaniel

Randal D. "Randie" McDaniel, 74, of Manilla, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Ashford Place.

Born November 20, 1948 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Thomas Franklin Carmony "Mac" McDaniel and Nera Nadine (Gahimer)  Kney McDaniel.  He married Jennifer (Lienhoop) McDaniel on November 10, 1968 and she preceded him on April 6, 2012.

Survivors include a  daughter Michelle Richardson (husband Thomas) of Manilla, a son Matthew McDaniel (fiance Ashley) of Manilla; special friend Gretchen Patterson of Manilla; a brother Ron McDaniel; (wife Ann) of Shelbyville; 4 grandchildren- Jacob Richardson, Adam Richardson, Austin McDaniel (wife Dana) & Hailey Gilbert.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his spouse, and a son Michael McDaniel.

Mr. McDaniel was a lifelong resident of this area, and graduated from Milroy High School in 1966. He had been an electrician with Chrysler Corp., retiring after 27 years of service.  He had previously been a skilled trade electrician/lineman with N.G. Gilbert Line Construction for 15 years.  He was a member of Indy Local IBEW, and a member of Shelbyville Masonic Lodge.

Randie enjoyed woodworking, traveling with his grandchildren, and was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Lewis Creek Baptist Church, 1400 E. 600 S. Waldron, with Pastor Harvey Taylor officiating. Friends may call at the  church from 10:00 am until the time of the service.

Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of   the donor's choice, in care of the funeral home.
