Rebecca Allen Obituary


Rebecca JoAnn Allen, 83, of Shelbyville, passed away on Thursday, March 5,2020 at Bloom At German Church Road in Indianapolis. 
Born January 17, 1937 in Anniston, Missouri, she was the daughter of Walter Ray "Radie" Parker and Gladys (Henry) Parker. She married Joe Morgan Allen on December 29, 1956 and he survives. 
Other survivors include: Son Donnie Allen of Indianapolis,  Daughters: Beverly Cristofori of Shelbyville, Barbara Green ( husband, David) of Shelbyville, and Bonnie Snyder of Shelbyville; 7 grandchildren; Crystal Ortel, Heather Oyerbides, Amanda Sasher, Cory Bennett, April Stevens, Michelle Overton, and Aaron Schofner; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters: Doris Sue Lineberry, Ruth Ellen Morgan, Pat Busby, brother Ralph Parker, 2 half brothers: Frank and Gene Parker, and great grandson Jacob.
Mrs. Allen had lived in this area since 1970 after moving from Indianapolis. She was a homemaker and graduated from Anniston High School in 1955. 
JoAnn enjoyed attending garage sales, couponing, bowling and playing softball in earlier years. She loved children and enjoyed babysitting and spending time with her grandchildren. 
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM on Monday, March 9, 2020 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road with Rev. David Humphrey officiating. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday morning from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association or Care Hospice Services c/o of the funeral home.
