Richard P. "Rick" Foster, 61, of Shelbyville, passed away September 23, 2021 at
St. Francis Hospital.
Born April 1, 1960 in Oneida Tennessee, he was the son of Ray Donald Foster and
Edna Delores (Cotton) Foster. He married Rhonda Foster and she preceded him on
July 9, 2021.
Survivors include a son Andrew Foster of Shelbyville, daughter Amber Ogden (husband
Dustin) of Shelbyville; sister Hattie Craft (husband Rick) of Tennessee; 4 grandchildren-
Blayze, Tylir, Thomas, & Luna, and one great grandchild Claire. He was preceded in death
by his parents, his spouse, 3 siblings- Wayne Foster, Dewan Lollar, and Terri Harrison.
Mr. Foster had lived in this area for 13 years, after moving from Tennessee. He had
attended Shelbyville High School.
Dad spent the first part of his life in Oneida, TN and finished his life in Shelbyville, IN but
he made friends wherever he went. He was a genuinely kind and loving man who didn't
know a stranger. He was a strong Christian and truly a man after God's heart. Dad would
help anyone who needed it, in whatever way he could. He was a southern man who
enjoyed good old fashioned front porch sittin. With his glass of tea and a bent ear you
could talk with him for hours. He was the person we all turned to and could talk to
about anything. Some say he was like a brother, he had a pleasant heart and even a
heck of a good man. To say that this funny, caring, grateful, storm chasing, cat hating,
purdy nurse- loving man will be missed is an understatement. But anyone who was
lucky enough to be blessed by his big heart will hold on to his memories forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 23, 2021 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at 2598
W. Boggstown Road, Shelbyville.
