Obituary

Richard W. "Bud" Garrison, 55, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Born November 16, 1967 in Greensburg, he was the son of Richard L. Garrison and Ellen Louise (Anderson) Garrison.  He married Teresa (James) Garrison on August 26, 2016, and she survives.  

Other survivors include 3 children- Brandon Garrison (wife Sarah) of St. Paul, Rebecca Swegman (husband Joe) of Greensburg, Lilly Garrison of Shelbyville; 4 grandchildren- Brett, Caleb, GraceCee, and Wesley.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Richard Garrison Jr., a brother Roland Garrison, and 2 sisters- Ethel Washburn, and Richie Gookins.

Mr. Garrison had lived in this area since 2007, moving from Decatur County. He was a Master Tech Mechanic with Carvana for 4 years, and had previously worked for several different car dealerships for several years. He attended North Decatur High School. Richard enjoyed fishing, cooking on the grill, attending tractor pulls, watching racing (Indy Car, NASCAR, midget, drag racing), working on cars, and spending time with his family.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Chris Lovett officiating.  Friends may call on Monday morning from 11:00 am until the time of the service.  Burial will be in Milford Cemetery in Decatur County.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, in care of the funeral home.
