Robert L. Hines

Robert L. Hines, 75, of St. Paul, passed away at his residence on Monday, July 3, 2023. 

Born February 10, 1948 in Buchannon, West Virginia, he was the son of Robert A. Hines and Emogene (Perrine) Hines.  He married Darlene S. (Smith) Hines on August 10, 1966, and she survives.

Survivors include his mother Emogene of Diana, West Virginia; his spouse of St. Paul; daughter Tina M. Lewis (fiance Keith Shelley) of Shelbyville;  siblings- Anna Schrader (husband Harold) of Diana, West Virginia, Vera Casteel of Diana, WV., Therial Hines (wife Lisa) of Diana, James G. Hines of Diana; 3 grandchildren- Edgar Ryan Lewis (wife Mary) of Shelbyville, Gabrielle Lewis (fiance James Wooten) of Greensburg, Elizabeth Lykins (husband Vernon) of St. Paul; and 2 great grandchildren- AryAuna Lewis & Edgar Argus Lewis. He was preceded in death by his father, sister Marketta J. Elliott, brother Phillip G. Hines, and a daughter Donna J. Hines.

Mr. Hines had lived in this area since 1999, after moving from Indianapolis. He had been a heavy equipment operator for Poindexter Excavating for several years, and was also a partner in Millenium Contractors. He attended Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis, and was a member of Holly River Baptist Church in Diana, WV.  He was a member of the Local #103 Union,and a member of the Ford Model A Club.

Robert enjoyed camping, cruising with his dog in his Model A, attending the "Liars Club" breakfast at McDonald's, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Glenn E. George Funeral Home, 106 E. Franklin St., St. Paul, with Pastor Daniel McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Holly River Baptist Cemetery in Diana, WV. Friends may call on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital, in care of the funeral home.
