Roland P. "Ron" Comstock

Roland P. "Ron" Comstock, 74, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at his residence. 

Born March 3, 1949 in Arcadia, Indiana, he was the son of William E. Comstock and Ada E. (Sasher) Comstock. He married Paula (Emerick) Comstock on October 9, 1976 and she survives.

Other survivors include 4 children- Billy Comstock (wife Barbra) of Boca Raton, Fl, Beth Spurlin (spouse Laurie) of Taylorsville, KY, Timmy Comstock of Marion, Tora "TJ" Pile (husband Ben) of Shelbyville; 2 siblings- Barb Smith of Connersville, Billy Joe Comstock (wife Mae) of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren- Zachary, Makayla, David, Levi, Christopher, Elijah, Aiden, Gianna, Asher, Kennedy, and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers- Tom Rowe, & Jerry Merrill, daughter Kelly Washington and grandson Gene Russell.

Mr. Comstock had lived in this area most of his lifetime and graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1967. Ron was a self employed jack of all trades, painter of drill rigs for Laibe Corp of Indy for 12 years and self employed with Motorcycles Plus, Marietta Landscape and Design, and Ron Com LLC Excavating for many years. Ron enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, sports, cutting firewood, hunting and loved anything that went fast. He was an Indianapolis Colts, Green Bay Packers, and IU basketball fan.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Mickey Pile officiating. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday evening, October 20th, from 4:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.
