Ruth Joan (Ash) Johns, 93, of Paso Robles, California, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021
at Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton California.
She was born on May 19, 1928, to Lowell Glen Ash and Mary Elizabeth (Gerberich) Ash. She married
Mack Henry Dean Johns on November 28, 1953 and he preceded her in death on September 18, 2004.
She is survived by her sons, Lowell Dean (Mary Anna) Johns of Shelbyville, William Russell (Debbie) 
Johns of Shelbyville, daughter, Nancy Jean (William) Chaides of Paso Robles, California; 14 grandchildren,
24 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchidren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers,
one grandson (Eric Allen Johns) and her son Norman Albert Johns of Rushville, Indiana.
Mrs. Johns graduated in 1946 from Shelbyville High School. She worked at Major Hospital for 28 years and
was a member of the VFW, Englewood, Florida and the American Legion Axillary #70.
After her husband passed, she moved back to Rushville and then to Shelbyville. She enjoyed playing
bingo and was very competitive. She also enjoyed her yearly visits to California to stay with her daughter
and son-in-law, and finally moved in 2020 to live with them.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call
on Wednesday from 9:00-11:00am at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Rd. 
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers make donations to Shelby County Cancer Association in care of the funeral home.
