Ruth Lavonne (Millard) Poe

Ruth Lavonne (Millard) Poe, 99 of Avon, Indiana passed away surrounded by her family on June 1, 2022. She was born September 10,1922 in Miltonvale, KS the daughter of the late William Millard and Ethel Irene (King) Millard. Ruth married her love, the late Rev. Lloyd Poe on September 10,1944 and he passed on July 12, 2010.

She is survived by her children, Thaddaeus M. (Donna Lee) Poe of Danville, IN; Beverlea J. (David) Robertson of Holland, MI; and Deborah S. Polaski of Berlin, Germany. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Ryan David Poe of Shelbyville, KY; Taylor Joseph Poe of Nashville, TN; Kristen Elisabeth (Poe) Addison of Clayton, IN; Heather Anne (Poe) Fields of Chicago, IL; Jacob Thaddaeus Poe of Speedway, IN; Lisa Marie Chupp of Elkhart, IN; D. Kent Robertson of Holland, MI; and Sabrina Lea Bishop of Homer, AK; and 4 great grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Rev. Lloyd Poe and a sister, Lois Chapman.

She was a homemaker. She had graduated from Miltonvale Wesleyan HS in 1939 in Miltonvale, KS. Ruth was a member of the Greensburg Wesleyan Church and the Senior Art Group of Hendricks County.

Funeral services for Ruth will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Lifeline Wesleyan Church, 2002 Moscow Rd., Greensburg, IN at 2:00 PM. with Pastor Doug Preston officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 12 Noon to 2:00 PM. Burial will be on Monday, June 6, 2022 in Evergreen Cemetery, Milford, OH.
