Ruth "Evelyn" Remmler, 88, of St. Paul, passed away on June 22,2020 at Decatur County Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 14, 1932 to G. Russell Thornburg and Ethel (Wiley) Thornburg in Greensburg. She married Richard "Dick" Remmler on February 28, 1951 and he preceded her in death in 2004.
Survivors include Sons Larry Remmler of Indianapolis, and Garry Remmler of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 brothers- Charles, Max, and James Thornburg.
Evelyn was a lifetime resident of this area, where she graduated from St. Paul High School, and was the original owner/operator of the Dairy Point in Greensburg. She attended Union Chapel Church of St. Paul, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Greensburg. Evelyn loved family get togethers, enjoyed eating ice cream and chocolates, but most of all loved spending time with her family.
Services will be held at the Glenn E. George Funeral Home, 106 E. Franklin Street St. Paul on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 11:00am. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home on Thursday, June 25, 2020 from 6-8pm. Burial will be held at the Union Chapel Cemetery in Decatur County. Memorial donations may be made to the Union Chapel Cemetery Fund in care of the funeral home.
