Stephanie Burnside Obituary

Stephanie Ann Burnside, 69, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Heritage House.

Born January 23, 1954 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, she was the daughter of James Snider and Mae Louise (Dodd) Snider Smith.

Survivors include her mother Mae Louise Snider Smith of Greensburg, and step father Frank Smith of Greensburg; former spouse Robert Burnside of Shelbyville; 2 step sisters- Becky Claxton of Shelbyville, Debbie McCullough of Lebanon; 2 step brothers- Matt Smith and Dan Smith, both of Greensburg.  She was preceded in death by her father James Snider.

Stephanie had lived in this area since 1967, after moving from West Virginia.  She had been employed as a bartender at Big Jim's Tavern for 30 years.  She graduated from Shelbyville High School, attended Fellowship Baptist Church, and Beacon Baptist Church, and was a member of American Legion Post #70 in Shelbyville.

Stephanie loved playing Bingo, and hanging out with her friends at Heritage House.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Rev. Frank Smith and Pastor Dwayne Russell officiating.  Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call on Thursday morning from 11:00 am until the time of the service, at the funeral home.  

Memorial contributions can be made to American Legion Post #70, in care of the funeral home.
