Stephen Edward Lutes

Stephen Edward Lutes, 67, of Shelbyville, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021
at MHP Medical Center.
Born December 17, 1953 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Don and Phyllis (Bright) Lutes.
He married Diana (Bridgford) Lutes in September of 2000 and she survives.
Other survivors include a sister Christy Denk (husband David) of Shelbyville, brother Doug
Lutes (wife Monica) of Shelbyville; Nieces Emma, Cassie & Maggie Lutes, and Rae Ann Artson; 
Aunts- Donna Stutz (husband Larry), Uncles Mike Holbrook (wife Carol), and Jon Holbrook
(wife Trudy); and 2 step grandchildren- Valerie McCormick and Kendyll Bullock.  He was
preceded in death by a sister Toni Graham, grandparents Frank & Dorothy Lutes, Pete &
Sally Holbrook; stepson Tyler McCormick; 2 uncles Bruce & Ed Holbrook, and aunt Sandra
Lutes Weber.
Mr. Lutes was a lifetime resident of this area and graduated from Shelbyville High School in
1972, where he participated in basketball, track, and cross country.  
Steve was an avid sports fan- especially Indiana University sports.  He has a room dedicated to
sports at his home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Glenn E. George & Son
Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Bill Horner officiating.  Burial will be in Forest Hill
Cemetery.  Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 9:00 amuntil the time of the service.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter, in care
of the funeral home.
