Stephen Morgan Obituary


Stephen Raymond Morgan, former Greensburg resident, went to be with the Lord on January 1, 2022 in Charleston, WV, where they had relocated to from Rocky Mount NC. 

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Childers Morgan also of Charleston WV along with his children; Todd and (Kimberly Shamblin) Morgan also of Charleston, grandchildren Liz, Caroline and Abby; Scott and (Kimberly Boyer) Morgan of Morrisville, NC, grandchildren Savannah and Josh; and Monica Macklin of Wilson, NC, grandchildren Kayla and Tanner.  Brothers J.P. and wife, Joan of St.Paul, IN and Paul and wife, Cindy of Mulberry, FL.  He was preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Marjorie Morgan and two sisters, Nancy Murray and Betty Blackburn. 

He also served in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Minot, ND from 1966 to 1970.  Steve received a Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana University in 1978.  Steve was a three time Master of the Masonic Lodge in Rocky Mount and also served as Treasurer until his health prevented him from continuing.  He was also a member of the Rocky Mount Shrine Club. He was very active in the Rocky Mount Bowling community serving in several capacities including President, Vice President and several committees.  He had 3- 300 games and several 700 series to his credit and was elected to the Rocky Mount Hall of Fame. 

His main enjoyment was spending time with his family; and loved watching movies with the grandchildren or listening to music and taught them an appreciation of all types.

Visitation will be from 11:00 to 1:00 PM on Friday, January 7, at Glenn E. George Funeral Home, 106 E. Franklin St., St. Paul, with services to follow at 1:00 pm.  Burial will be at Greensburg South Park Cemetery.
