Stephen Wright Obituary


Stephen E. Wright, 69, of Shelbyville, passed away peacefully on  Sunday, January 17, 2021
at St. Vincent Hospital.
Born February 14, 1951, he was the son of Earl C. Wright and Norma (Blanford) Wright.  He 
married Linda (Hardebeck) Wright on August 1, 1969 and she survives.
Other survivors include his daughters- Tammy Wright, April Wright, and Angie Piercy (husband
Robert), all of Shelbyville; 3 brothers- Mike Wright, Don Wright (wife Debbie), Jeff Wright (wife
Kim), 3 sisters- Joyce Gann (husband Herman), Penny Carter (husband Mark), and Jerri Hills;
5 grandchildren- Douglas Scudder (wife Alli), Latasha Carmony (husband Jordan), Brianna
Wright, Ashley Wright, Christopher Piercy; and 7 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death
by his parents, and a son Stephen Dale Wright.
Mr. Wright graduated in 1969 from North Decatur High School.  He retired from GE after 18 years
of service.  He was married to his high school sweetheart for 50 years.  He loved his family and his
 dog Rocky. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing golf, woodworking, and spending time with his
family.  He was very proud of his fishing and bowling trophys.  His name is also in the bowling
museum in Missouri for his perfect 300 game.
Funeral services will be 6:00 pm on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral
Home, 437 Amos Road.  Visitation will be observed on Friday evening from 4:00 pm until the time 
of the service.
