Timothy Meulen Obituary

Timothy D. "Tim" Meulen, 58, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday April 29, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital after a brief illness. Born December 26, 1963 in Greenfield, he was the son of Gordon R. and Jacqueline D. "Jackie" (Carter) Meulen.  He met the love of his life, Dawn M. Means in 1989 and they were married in July of 2001. 

Survivors include his wife of Shelbyville; 5 children- Chrystal Wall (husband John) of Greensburg, Brandy Moore of Shelbyville, Miranda Fraley (husband Tom) of Morristown, Kenny Owens of Shelbyville, Jai Patton (wife Monika) of Shelbyville;  his mother and stepfather Jackie and Jerry Fisher of Shelbyville; a sister Teresa Garces (husband Jose) of Shelbyville;  brother Ben Meulen (wife Rita) of Shelbyville; 17 grandchildren- Trinity, Tristin, Trey, Zachary, Avery, Gunner, Walker, Caden, Ciara, Allysah, Kenny, LeeAnna, Kalyde, Eli, Naveah, Jai, Chevelle; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father.

Tim graduated from Southwestern High School in 1982, and was employed by Faurecia South in Columbus. He had previously worked for Jupiter Coil and Roger New Drywall. He had also been a bouncer at the former Blue River Inn and the Brickhouse. Tim enjoyed restoring furniture, antiquing, and arrowhead hunting.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Funeral services will be 4:00 pm on Friday, May 6, 2022 at Lewis Creek Baptist Church, 1400 E. 600 S. Waldron, with Brian Hartung officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery.  Friends may call at the church on Friday morning from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.  

Memorial contributions can be made to the Timothy D. Meulen Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
