Vicki L. "Ginger" Russell

Vicki L. "Ginger" Russell, 73, of Manilla, passed away June 26, 2020 at OUR Hospice
Inpatient Facility.
Born October 12, 1946 in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of William M. Higgins and Carol I. (McComas)
Higgins.  She married Robert J. "Bob" Russell on November 19, 1967 and he preceded her on September
23, 2009.
Survivors include 3 children- Deborah Davis (husband Mark) of Rushville, Tracy Weitzel (husband Toma) of Manilla,
Cyndi Smith (husband Donnie) of Rushville; brother Tony Higgins (wife Patty) of Shelbyville; 4 grandchildren, and
2 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, 2 brothers- William "Leroy" Higgins,
Tom Higgins, and sister Pepper Kent.
Mrs. Russell was a lifelong resident of this area, and graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1964.  She had been
employed at Roberta's in customer service for many years.
Ginger's family was her priority, caring for and nursing them.  She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and attending her children
and grandchildren's sporting events.
A Celebration of Life with dinner served, will be held Saturday, August 1, 2020 from 1:00 pm  until 5:00 pm at the Manilla
Community Volunteer Fire Department, 9234 W. St. Rd. 44, Manilla, IN  46150. Burial will be in Manilla Cemetery.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to OUR Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 East 17th St.,
Columbus, Indiana 47201-5417.
