Walter Ray Karns, 72, of Akron Ohio, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at
Justin Rogers Hospice in Akron.
Born April 10, 1949 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Joseph Karns and Esther
(Foxworthy) Karns. He married Jeannette (Thibo) Karns in 1971 and she preceded
him on May 31, 2011.
Survivors include 3 sons- Brian Karns (wife Traci) of Carmel, Kevin Karns of Cincinnati,
Allen Karns of Indianapolis; daughter-in-law Tiffany Karns; and 4 grandchildren- Emily,
Wyatt, Lincoln, and Clementine. He was preceded in death by his parents, his spouse,
and son Preston Karns.
Mr. Karns had lived in the Akron area for over 25 years, after moving from Nebraska. He was
a heavy equipment mechanic, working at several different equipment dealerships for
47 years. He graduated from Morristown High School and was a member of the Antique
Small Engine Club.
Walter loved attending antique small engine shows, always enjoyed his work, and
enjoyed his family and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral
Home, 437 Amos Road, Shelbyille, Indiana with visitation there on Friday morning from 11:00 am until the time
of the service.
