William Brown Obituary

William Ray Brown passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Walker Place. He was born on January 25, 1930 on Log Lick Road, near Florence, Indiana.
He was the only child of Ernest and Bertha brown who lived with Ray's Grandpa and Grandma Brown on a
small farm in Switzerland County.

Ray went to a four room school in Florence for grades one through eight and then to Patriot High School. While in high school
he met Lucile Eileen Uhlmansiek and they were married June 4, 1948 and they were blessed with three children, Dianna, Gary and Holly.

Ray and Lucy valued education and Ray went to University of Cincinnati class two or three nights a week. In 1965 he received
a business degree from U.C. He worked at Schenley Distillery for six years and in 1954, the week that Gary was born, started
a job with American Bitumuls & Asphalt Company now known as Chevron Corp. After a wide range of jobs at Chevron, he retired
in 1986 after 32 years of service.

In 1987 Ray and Lucy purchased their ideal home in Milan, IN where they lived until Lucy's death in March 2002.  He leaves a
daughter, Dianna and her husband Bill Pandak, a son Gary, and daughter Holly and her husband Greg Busch. There are six
grandchildren; Andrea and Erin Brown; Jack, Ann, Katie and Libby Busch.

Dianna introduced Ray to Charline Peck and it was a good thing. They were married in July 2003 and lived in Shelbyville. Ray's
family extended to include Charline's daughter Debbie Lucas, sons Eddie and Ty and his wife Julie. There are also three
grandchildren, Jacob, Michelle and Lily Peck and one great grandchild.

As I leave my family and friends, I thank them all for many gifts, but most of all for the love and support I felt in their voices and saw
in their eyes. Please do not feel sorrow, Celebrate with me.
