William J. "Bill" Lay

William J. "Bill" Lay, 60, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023 at Indiana University Hospital.

Born December 29, 1962 in Shelbyville, he was the son of  Henry Lay and JoAnn (Porter) Lay. He married Corrina (Williams) Lay on December 11, 1993 and she survives.

Other survivors include his Mother-in-law Sandy Coffey of Shelbyville; son Cooper Lay of Shelbyville, daughter Caitlin Lay of Shelbyville; 2 brothers- Roger Lay, & Todd Lay, both of Shelbyville; and a sister Terry Conover of Shelbyville. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Lay was a lifelong resident of this area, and graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1981.  He was employed as a senior maintenance tech at Plastic Molding Corporation in Shelbyville for 39 years.

Bill enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, sitting around a campfire with friends, mowing, and completing projects around the house. He especially loved traveling and spending time with his family.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Monday, July 10, 2023 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Bryan Trotter officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday evening, July 9, 2023 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
